The forest department organizes nature excursions for tourists. The Mahabaleshwar Temple was built in the 13th century by the Yadav king. Kshetra Mahabaleshwar

Also known as Dhom Mahabaleshwar, it has an ancient Hemadpanti Shiva Temple on a cliff. Due to the Krishna idol placed in it, it’s also called Krishnabai Temple. This area has two large Shiva temples—Atimahabaleshwar and Mahabaleshwar. These Hemadpanti temples were built by the Yadav dynasty in 1215. Near these temples, Chandrarao More built the Panchganga Temple, from where five rivers—Krishna, Koyna, Venna, Savitri, and Gayatri—originate. This makes the area a pilgrimage site. After a pilgrimage in 1644, Saint Ramdas Swami first came here and started preaching. He also built the first Hanuman Temple here.
